Join Seattle Parks and Recreation’s staff at a community meeting to review options for new play equipment types and styles. Children welcome. Light snacks and activities will be available.

Seattle Parks and Recreation is installing new play equipment at the Wallingford Play Area, located at the northeast corner of Wallingford Playfield. Play area equipment is being replaced due to insect infestation in the old equipment. Access improvements will be made to the play area, if needed, in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

  • TreePAC: Advocacy for an effective tree ordinance. Meeting the City’s goal to increase the tree canopy to 30% includes protecting existing trees and Seattle’s urban forests.
  • Seattle Department of Transportation: Green Lake Area Paving & Safety Projects. Project briefing by Christa Dumpys on bicycle lane and parking changes for Stone Way N, Green Lake Way N, N 50th Street, and N 40th Street.

General Membership Meeting:

Join us for the Wallingford Community Council (WCC) Annual Membership Meeting and Election of Officers on Wednesday May 9, 2018, 7:00 PM in the Chapel of the Good Shepherd Center, 4649 Sunnyside Avenue N. Everyone is welcome!

Members: Please come early to check in to vote.

Representative Nicole Macri, 43rd District

Hear her ideas for retaining & growing middle class housing.
We will also hear what she is doing to ensure that as our population grows, so does livability (i.e., schools, parks, green space, community centers, senior centers, play fields, transportation, etc..), as well as her ideas for slowing down economic segregation.
Followed by Q&A.

Reminder: to vote in the election, one needs to be a current member for 2018. Last year, WCC moved to a calendar year membership cycle. If you joined or renewed your membership after November 2017, then your membership is valid for all of 2018. To be eligible to vote in the May election, you must have renewed or joined no later than April 24, 2018.

The next Monthly Meeting is Wednesday, June 6th, 7pm.  In addition to an update on Stone Way, etc. by SDOT, we will be having a special general meeting the latter half of the time period to discuss potential by-law changes, outreach and inclusion.

Reminder: To vote in the election of Officers, you must be a current member for 2018. Last year, we moved to a calendar year membership cycle. This means that if you joined or renewed your membership after November 2017, then your membership is valid for all of 2018. To be eligible to vote at the Annual Meeting, you must renew or join for 2018 no later than today, April 24, 2018!
