Program:

Brad Topol, Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT) Vision Zero, will present improvements for N/NE 40th Street focusing on safety treatments for pedestrian and bicycle crossings.

Christa Dumpys, SDOT, with updates on the Greenlake and Wallingford paving project, and the NE 43rd Street improvements project in U-District.

  • Announcements:
    • The Wallingford Community Council and the Northeast District Council host a District 4 City Council Candidates Forum on Monday June 10, 7 PM at the Sand Point Learning Center, 5801 Sand Point Way NE.
    • Public Hearing on legislation to change regulations for Accessory Dwelling Units (Backyard Cottages). Tuesday June 11, 5:30 PM in Seattle City Council Chambers.
    • The Monthly Meeting on Wednesday July 3 is cancelled!
    • The next Monthly Meeting will be Wednesday August 7, 7 PM.
  • Good of the Order (anything people want to bring up).

The Wallingford Community Council (WCC) will hold its Annual Membership Meeting and Election of Officers on Wednesday May 15, 2019, at 7:00 PM. In the Chapel of the Good Shepherd Center, 4659 Sunnyside Ave N.

Program

Guest Speakers:
Jeanne Kohl-Welles, King County Councilmember for District 4. (King County District 4 covers most of Wallingford from west of 1st Ave NE, the remainder of Northwest Seattle, Magnolia, Queen Anne, South Lake Union, “Uptown”, and part of Downtown.)
Abel Pacheco, Seattle City Councilmember for District 4. (Seattle City District 4 covers part of Fremont, most of Wallingford, and goes east to Lake Washington.)

Election of Officers

This year we will be electing the President, Vice-President, Secretary, and three At Large Board Members (these six positions are all one year terms). The Past President position will be held by Miranda Berner and Treasurer, a two year term, is Paul Willumson. Nominations will be accepted from the floor. The present list of nominees is:

Vice President: Glenn Singer
Treasurer: Paul Willumson
Secretary: Mark JoHahnson
At Large Positions:

Reminder: To vote in the election, you must be a current member for 2019. Two years ago, we moved to a calendar year membership cycle. If you joined or renewed your membership before May 1, 2019, then you are eligible to vote.

Reminder: To vote in the election, you must be a current member for 2019. Two years ago, we moved to a calendar year membership cycle. If you joined or renewed your membership after November 2018, then your membership is valid for all of 2019. To be eligible to vote in the May election, you must renew or join no later than April 30, 2019.
